At just 25, Tarik O'Regan already has an established reputation as a rising star. The half-a-dozen works published in New Horizons give some indication of what the fuss is all about . . . A straightforward, four-voice setting of Locus Iste does not offer much personality, but O'Regan's eight-voice Ave Maria is more satisfying, combining simplicity with a gentle sense of the music's logical unfolding.

Born in London in 1978, Tarik O'Regan is one of the most exciting new choral composers to emerge in recent years. Educated at Oxford and Cambridge, his choral works have been performed by, among others, the BBC Symphony Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir and Los Angeles Master Chorale. O'Regan divides his time between New York City and Trinity College, Cambridge, where he is Fellow Commoner in the Creative Arts.
