Medical law, like no other subject, confronts some of the most taxing questions for law - literally life and death issues. The law has to consider questions such as the ending of life support for the patient in an irreversible coma, the selective reduction of a multiple pregnancy, the transplantation of organs from other species or allowing the handicapped new-born to die. Based on the earlier Consumer Law: Text, Cases and Materials by David Oughton, this work seeks to explain the general principles which underlie consumer protection law and the many ways in which those principles are applied. It provides students of consumer law with an up-to-date and readable text on the subject.
