Der vorliegende Band ist er erste einer neuen Reihe uber innovative Paradigmen in den Heritage Studies. Der Schwerpunkt der Beitrage liegt auf der Entwicklung einer Perspektive fur die Heritage Studies, die auf eine nachhaltige und menschliche Entwicklung abzielt. Damit werden erste Impulse fur historische Kontexte berucksichtigende Diskussionen uber theoretische Positionen und anwendungsrelvante Fragestellungen innerhalb des Forschungsfeldes Heritage Studies gegeben.

The divination baskets of south Central Africa are woven for a specific purpose. The baskets, known as "lipele," contain sixty or so small articles, from seeds, claws, and minuscule horns to wooden carvings.
