The present volume in the New Series of Landolt-Bornstein provides critically evaluated data on phase diagrams, crystallographic and thermodynamic data of ternary alloy systems. The often conflicting literature data have been critically evaluated by Materials Science International Team, MSIT(R), a team working together for many years, and with expertise in a broad range of methods, materials and applications.

Volume 43 of Group III deals with crystallographic data of both intermetallic and classical inorganic compounds, thus forming an update of the former Landolt-Bornstein volumes III/6 (Structure Data of Elements and Intermetallic Phases) and III/7 (Crystal Structure Data of Inorganic Compounds). The present volume contains data on properties of semiconducting IIa-VI Compounds with Mg and Sr. These properties refer to the structure of the material, its thermal and thermodynamic behavious as well as its lattice.

Volume 11 of group IV presents phase diagrams, crystallographic and thermodynamic data of ternary alloy systems. The subvolume D deals with iron systems, with part 1 considering selected systems from Al-B-Fe to C-Co-Fe. The volume forms a comprehensive review and rigorous systematization of the presently available data. For each system the often conflicting literature and information has been thoroughly evaluated by a team of experts and is presented in a standard format.
