Mit der Abteilung IX wird der Abschluss der Edition der Kritischen Gesamtausgabe der Werke Friedrich Nietzsches vorgelegt. Die von Nietzsche von 1885 bis 1889 benutzten Notiz- und Arbeitshefte werden integral veroffentlicht, vereinzelte Aufzeichnungen der letzten Schaffensperiode vervollstandigen die Heftedition.
