Friedrich Schleiermacher (1768 - 1834) had great oratorical and literary impact as a preacher. This volume presents the first four of a total of seven collections of sermons that were collected and published by Schleiermacher himself. The volume also contains an appendix with a calendar, which records the actual dates that the 3,556 sermons were delivered; there are textual sources available for 1,341 of these dates.
