The author aims to make the reader acquainted with the history, beliefs, customs and manners of the Parsees, who with their commercial enterprise, formed important ties between the British and the Indians. He asserts that the customs and rites of the Parsees are distinct, and do not borrow from either the Hindus or the Muslims, and how their practices distinguish them from other oriental practices.
