Grundlage ist eine neue kritische Lesung des Textes der Handschrift codex Venetus gr. 496, da die GCS-Ausgabe von Bakhuyzen (1901) bekanntermaen fehlerhaft ist. Die ausfuhrliche Einleitung behandelt den gesamten Dialog einschlielich, unter anderem, Text- und Quellenkritik und historischem Hintergrund.
