This is the second and final volume of the letters to Annette von Droste-Hulshoff. It covers the years 1841-1848 and completes the edition of her entire correspondence inasfar as it is extant or traceable. The letters collected here, many of which have never been published before, cast light both on Droste-Hulshoff's socio-historical background and on the position she held in the literary world of her time.

Over 100 years after the hitherto standard scholarly compilation of the secular lieder by the Monk of Salzburg, they are presented here in a new edition. It assembles the complete texts and melodies by this poet-composer of the late 14th century, supplementing them with scholarly annotations to aid understanding. The problematic relationship between corpus (notably the "Mondsee-Wiener Liederhandschrift") and oeuvre is discussed, the specific formal achievements of the author highlighted and all sources investigated, including some hitherto unknown.
