Das Buch beschaftigt sich mit der turkischen Rechtsgeschichte, beginnend im Osmanischen Reich bis zur Entstehung des modernen turkischen Rechtswesens. Die Autorin untersucht dabei insbesondere die Mitwirkung emigrierter deutschsprachiger Juristen nach 1933, der sogenannten Haymatlozen. Dadurch kann sie die Bedeutung der auslandischen Wissenschaftler fur die Transformierung des Rechtswesens, die Neugestaltung der Rechtsordnung durch die Ubernahme fremden Rechts sowie die Genese des modernen turkischen Rechtsstaates analysieren.

Diese rechtshistorische Studie behandelt den Blinkfuer-Beschluss des Bundesverfassungsgerichts, der weitreichende Bedeutung fur die Pressefreiheit hatte.
