This volume contains information taken from the General Entries Books in the Register of Wills Office in Bel Air, Maryland, and the Maryland State Archives. About 2,500 names are alphabetically listed, along with age or date of birth.

Soldiers, sailors, privateers, and patriots from every county in Maryland are covered. Also included are many pension abstracts (both accepted and rejected applications) and soldiers from Harford County militia companies whose names have not been published before. As with his other books, "this compilation is more than just a listing of names. Many patriots have genealogical data included with their respective entries and all information is fully documented. Also, all surnames are cross-referenced within the text and thus precludes the need for a separate index."

This volume covers 348 bastardy cases in Harford County, Maryland, taken from county court records, orphans court records, general entry ledgers, indentured servant records, and court papers maintained in the county court house and at the Historical Society of Harford County. Most information is transcribed, with annotations in many files from additional research. An every name index adds to the value of this work.
