Instead, we usually choose to prevent our happiness from arising by unconsciously attaching ourselves to those things that inherently create un-happiness for us. In the end, we see that happiness does not come from how the world treats us. It comes from how we choose to perceive the world, and whether we choose to live a life free from the destructive, negative attachments that we create.
