Oral lesions are of many types. They are categorized in many different classifications. This is new classification made by compilation of all red lesions which occurs in the oral cavity. These lesions can have many differential diagnoses so we categorize these lesions on the basis of their appearance and also we have focused mainly upon differential diagnoses of each lesion. So that we can easily differentiate these lesions and can make proper diagnosis.

Hamartomas of the oral cavity are unique presentations of the head and neck region. They are excessive growth of mature cells and tissues usually present in the affected organ with architectural derangement. The distinguishing features of hamartomatous lesions are uncertain, and often these non neoplastic masses are indiscreetly denoted as neoplasms without weighing their pathology or biological behaviour. Hamartomas of the oral cavity and head and neck are poorly characterized and continues to be an intriguing spectrum with minimal clarity of pathogenesis. This book is an attempt to...

Radiography remains one of the most important modes of investigation for the evaluation of jaw lesions, inspite of development of many modern imaging modalities. Patient age at manifestation, prevalence, location, cystic or solid appearance, border contour and effect of the lesion on adjacent structures are all considerations in making the diagnosis. Despite this information, however, many lesions are impossible to differentiate without biopsy. Although imaging will not always provide a specific diagnosis, it should help narrow the differential diagnosis, thereby helping to guide patient...

Verrucopapillary lesions represents a group of lesions that exhibit clinically and histologically, finger-like surface projections. Such lesions are common in oral cavity. Verrucopapillary lesions are diagnostically challenging as they include a spectrum of reactive, benign, potentially malignant, malignant or idiopathic lesions. Some of these lesions have high potential for malignant transformation. Prompt treatment after recognition of the lesion is important so as to prevent recurrences and malignant transformation. This review tries to provide a deeper insight into characteristic features...

Granular cell lesions have been reported in different sites, but their principal sites of occurrence is in the head and neck region. Granular cell lesions are not hereditary or familial. They appear as small, solitary, painless, non-tender nodules arising from the dermis or the submucosal tissue. Ulceration is rare. The true diagnosis is rarely suspected preoperatively. Immunohistochemistry and electron microscopy help to confirm histologic impression and differentiate other neoplastic entities with granular cytoplasmic features. The morphology of all granular cells is similar but their...
