In this study, I examined the influence of family demands on career disengagement using 92 employee-supervisor pairs. To shed more light on this relationship, three mediators were integrated into the path analysis: family-work conflict, career self-efficacy, and the supervisor's anticipation of career success. Family-work conflict and the supervisor's anticipation of career success are significantly related to career self-efficacy.
