The war in Macedonia 1915-1918 was waged as coalition warfare on both sides. Regarding to the Central Powers, Bulgaria carried the main load of these fighting; therefore it needed support of its allies in order to be successful. The resulting cooperation was as a marriage of convenience. However, strategic decisions resulting from their different goals, as well as asymmetries and mutual dependence led to disputes, too.
