This volume was created within the framework of the research project "On the Iconography of the Alpine Landscape: Artificial Mountains and Artificial Caves." This project has already resulted in a first volume entitled "Rock Gardens, Garden Grottoes, Artificial Mountains. Nature Motifs in Architecture and Garden," which was awarded the Gold Medal European Garden Book Prize in 2015.
