Considering the scarcity of research on the elderly in traffic and the constant increase in the elderly population in Brazil, as well as the importance of investing in the empowerment of healthy ageing, this project sought to assess the psychosocial consequences of the elderly when they stop driving, understanding that the loss of this status may or may not compromise the autonomy and self-esteem of the elderly, making it difficult for them to adapt to the new reality.

In Anbetracht des Mangels an Forschungsergebnissen über ältere Menschen im Straßenverkehr und des stetigen Anstiegs der älteren Bevölkerung in Brasilien sowie der Bedeutung von Investitionen in die Förderung des gesunden Alterns sollten im Rahmen dieses Projekts die psychosozialen Folgen des Führerscheinentzugs für ältere Menschen untersucht werden, da der Verlust dieses Status die Autonomie und das Selbstwertgefühl älterer Menschen beeinträchtigen kann, was ihnen die Anpassung an die neue Realität erschwert.

Compte tenu de la rareté des recherches sur les personnes âgées dans la circulation et de l'augmentation constante de la population âgée au Brésil, ainsi que de l'importance d'investir dans l'autonomisation d'un vieillissement sain, ce projet a cherché à évaluer les conséquences psychosociales pour les personnes âgées lorsqu'elles cessent de conduire, sachant que la perte de ce statut peut ou non compromettre l'autonomie et l'estime de soi des personnes âgées, ce qui les empêche de s'adapter à la nouvelle réalité.
