Due to the increasing interest of decreasing the amount of green house gases in the atmosphere, one of the methods propose by scientists to reduce the emission of methane is the biofiltration systems implemented in landfills which are aimed to capture the gas generated by the decomposition of the waste and make it travel across natural materials that contain bacterias that allow the oxidation of the methane.
