The analysis of the lithic productions from Geissenklosterle in Germany, Willendorf and Krems in Austria and Bacho Kiro in Bulgaria provides the basis for a discussion about the unity and variability of the initial stages of this cultural complex, equated with the beginning of the Upper Palaeolithic.
