This work explores current IT applications that allow the design and construction of information systems for cultural resources management. The author analysis a range of information systems that have been developed and which seem to indicate that they are often set up by non-specialists with insufficient technical support. The projects that result, irrespective of their success of failure, often call for excessive resources - time, manpower, and cost.
