I have been working on hand washing for many years. It is the simplest and most effective measure to avoid Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI). Taking all this into account, in our institution we carry out different activities periodically to improve adherence, using the recommendations of the World Health Organization as a model/guideline. We measure adherence to hand hygiene by means of observation with trained personnel. We take care of the health of the staff and involve the patient and family in the care of their health.
