Having studied and reviewed English translations of Greek Cypriot poetry extensively, I came to the conclusion that there are lines in each translation which are more successful than in alternate versions. This is because each reading of an original poem and each translation is undertaken from a distinctive approach and each translator attaches particular value to one aspect of the work.
