Tropical streams are ecosystems under constant threat by the degradation of riparian vegetation, and a biodiversity still unknown may be lost. Studies on macroinvertebrates, especially regarding habitat characterization, biological and ecological relationships of immature stages are important to understand and protect these ecosystems.
