This book contains a full textcritical apparatus with conclusions on the Gospel of John. The Greek text in all its variety stands at its base and it is then compared with a great number of textual witnesses: Syriac, Latin, Coptic, Armenian, Georgian, Ethiopian, Dutch and also with Palestinian, Georgian and Dutch Lectionaries and the Diatessaron in all its variety. These last categories are often neglected in textcritical research, but they appear to be an outstanding textual witness to the early textforms of the Gospel. Ce livre contient une comparaison textuelle des plus anciens manuscrits arméniens de l'Evangile de Marc, les manuscrits M2374 et 6200, accompagnés du manuscrit 554 de la Bibliothèque Chester-Beatty et du texte de l'édition de Zohrab, avec les plus anciens manuscrits de la tradition textuelle grecque. La tradition arménienne représente alors un texte originel qui s'apparente souvent à la tradition byzantine ancienne, représentée par les manuscrits grecs 579 et 700.

This book is the result of about fourteen years (2009-2023) of papers, made for different symposia about the Eastern-Christian traditions: eight researches on the Georgian Bible and five on the Armenian. There were already papers published in the West: on the Codex Schoeyen and on Codex Scheide, a research on Gregory of Nazianze and an article on the Sanctus. But others remained unpublished, or they were hardly accessible in the West. Therefore we do publish them here to show their importance for the traditions of the Early Church.
