The stories relate the experiences of the characters and their encounters with ghosts and other ominous spirits and how they transformed their lives after undergoing an exorcism. The narratives were set up in an Asian cultural ecosystem where there are beliefs in mysticism and ghostly spirits. Strange sickness, ill lucks and misfortunes and freak accidents are attributed to ghosts and unknown spirits. The idea of spiritism is reinforced by the natural ecosystem of communities surrounded by ominous dense forests, spirit laded rivers and lakes and calm but scary seas.
