The number of orphans is increasing day by day in India in general and in J&K in particular. Besides the trend of institutionalizing them is catching up in the society, which had its own traditional mechanism of rehabilitation and care/support. This study thus looks at the institutional impact on orphans and aim to find out the reasons for increasing number of orphans is Kashmir.
