Tomato yellow leaf curl virus (TYLCV) is a whitefly transmitted geminivirus. It is a severe problem for tomato cultivation specially in the tropical and subtropical region. Symptoms of TYLCV include stunting, curling, cupping, marginal chlorosis of leaves, reduced leaf size and lower number of fruits. Yield loss due to TYLCV can be as high as 100% depending on variety, season and number of viruliferous vectors.
