This paper attempts to look at the information imbalance within India particularly between different regions of northeast India. It studies the amount of coverage given to northeast in terms of various categories like popular movements, ethnic violence, tourism sector, sports and so on. It also studies the amount of space given to the northeast in the two national dailies of India. A quantitative content analysis method is adopted for the study.
