Located on the western border of Vermont, Shoreham's 36 square miles are comprised of rich farmland, wooded areas, and swift-flowing streams that powered a variety of mills and an iron foundry over the years. An excellent grade of black marble was quarried from the shore in the 19th century and sold in both the United States and Europe.
