The subject of my work is "The Living Death: Representation of Life Affected by Death in the Poetry of Emily Dickinson." I argued that her speaker's life is immersed in sorrow while she anticipates and desires death. In the first chapter I described her accuracy in depicting the beauty of the surrounding world. However, beauty as well as the feeling of happiness are short-living states, as the speaker admits herself by finishing each of them with a pessimistic view of life.
