Prophet Mohammed also dispatched the first Muslim Hegira fearing of persecution. In the 1920s and 1930s Ethiopia welcomed Armenian Christians that fled Bolshevik rule and later in the 1950s and 1960s, African freedom fighters seeking asylum.
