This represents the thesis work dedicated
to unraveling the underlying catalytic mechanism of the
exopeptidase carboxypeptidase A. Earlier postulated
mechanisms (by Cleland et.al., Lipscomb et.al., Suh et.
al...), based on crystallographic and kinetic data, are
