In the final volume of her acclaimed trilogy Through the Eyes of Mary Magdalene, Estelle Isaacson intimates a connection between Magdalene and Repanse de Schoye, who lived nine centuries later in the Grail family. Repanse was a sister to Anfortas, the Grail King wounded by the Sky-Fallen Lance, which according to tradition is the same that pierced the side of Christ Jesus. The Chalice used to collect the blood flowing from that wound is said to have been the Holy Grail, which was later in Repanse's keeping--her role being tht of Grail Bearer at Montsalvat.
