The author points out what he considers to be some erroneous assumptions in Einstein's theories of relativity. This allowed going beyond these theories in the development of a non-relativistic, unified theory of gravitation and electromagnetism. What causes gravity and establishes the speed of light is described. The possibility of faster than light travel is discussed. The author believes his most important ideas are in the field of astrophysics. They began with his desire to reconcile the dichotomy between the electro-magnetic and the quantum theories of light. His assumption about the nature of dark matter and dark energy, to explain the speed of light, was key. This concept of dark matter led to a new explanation for gravity, black holes and the big bang.
