A Ghanaian student, Kwame, goes to the U.S. to study, and becomes romantically involved with a young white American woman, Ginger. He throws himself into the relationship and into college life, and it is not until he nears the end of his studies, that his thoughts turn to home and to Angelina, the girlfriend he left behind.
