Three Syriac law codes issued by Syriac Patriarchs under Muslim rule; they include ecclesiastical and civil law with a German translation.

Using manuscripts from the British Museum, Sachau here presents a number of unique Syriac texts translated from Greek, including philosophical, medical, and maxim texts. The appendix includes astronomical texts from Sergius of Reshaina and Severus Sebokt.

The present volume is the travelogue of Eduard Sachau, who visited various sites throughout the Middle East in 1879-80. Sachau focuses primarily on issues pertaining to topography and geography.
