Philip Larkin met Monica Jones at University College Leicester in autumn 1946, when they were both 24. Monica became by turns his correspondent, lover and closest confidante, in a relationship which lasted over 40 years until the poet's death in 1985. This book consists of nearly 2000 letters, postcards and telegrams they sent.
