This is not a paint by numbers, “how to” guide to self-awareness. Nor is it another rehashed, pleasant memoir detailing a smooth “spiritual awakening.” If anything, it’s more of a “what not to do” guide — a personal story with quite a few corkscrew twists and an unexpected outcome. The outcome is one that isn't as much “spiritual awakening” as “divinely inspired upheaval.” More than that, though, it is a tale offered to encourage others.
