Little Lucy's Young American series highlights valuable real-life contributions made by first-generation immigrants and their families. The main character is inspired by real-life child immigrant Luz Maria Vazquez. Since classmates and teachers could not properly pronounce her Spanish name, they renamed her Lucy. The name has stuck to this day. Lucy currently lives in Orlando, where she spends her retirement with her five children and eleven grandchildren. Enjoy her stories.
