This is a true story of a Black lawyer who moved to the South to practice law and found the South had not changed and had regressed to an earlier time when Blacks were hung for being too smart. She was falsely accused of a crime and convicted. When she was released, she searched to discover how she was convicted when under the law, she had not committed a crime. Her investigation led her to discover court corruption that included both the Texas Supreme Court and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals.
