It is the thesis of this book that John's hybrid Gospel synthesizes many of the leading theological ideas of Paul - most significantly, 1st Corinthians 15 - with the meta-structure of Matthew, combining many of the major features of the Synoptic template with John's unique, extended, explanatory "table talk" section - important pre-resurrectional talk between the apostles and Christ (chapters 13-17).
