This series was my final project for Photo Arts II during the Spring 2014 semester at the Rochester Institute of Technology. My series explores the diversity of people with tattoos. There is an environmental portrait of a tattooed individual, and one close up photo of their favorite tattoo. The images are not ordered to match up a specific tattoo with a specific person, because I wanted both types of "portraits" to be a testament to just how diverse tattooed people are.

This book is the commercially available version of my "artist book" created for my Topics in Visual Media course: the experimental photobook. This is a mixed-media exploration of self-discovery based on the past six (or so) months that I have been living on my own for the first time in my entire 23 years of life. It is also a testament to the difference between my life in reality and that which I portray on social media. Although deeply personal, my hope is that the content of this book can relate to anyone who may pick it up.
