Bertha Muzzy Sinclair or Sinclair-Cowan, nee Muzzy (November 15, 1871 - July 23, 1940), best known by her pseudonym B. M. Bower, was an American author who wrote novels, fictional short stories, and screenplays about the American Old West."

After the success of her first novel Chip of the Flying U, B.M. Bower wrote several more novels and collections of short stories about the Flying U Ranch, mostly focusing on the supporting characters. A few years after ending the series with 1929's Rodeo, Bower was persuaded to write more Flying U stories supposed to pre-date the events of Chip of the Flying U. Some of her earlier Flying U short stories were also evidently expanded and adapted into full-length books.
