Earthquakes are thought to defy predictions. Indeed, numerous prediction methods have been attempted by generations of geologists. These methods are based on correlations of phenomena (such as animal behavior, tidal behavior, radon generation, ground shift, electromagnetism, foreshocks) with earthquakes.
