Gruesome murders of young children are happening in the small town of River's Edge, Georgia. The victims are schoolmates of nine year-old Dakota Jeffords. Dakota's father, Jake, is the town Sheriff. Her uncle, Wyatt, is the town doctor, who also serves as the coroner. Jake and his deputies have yet to find a single clue. As the body count rises, so does Jake's stress level. Wyatt, who is very close to his niece, becomes concerned about Jake's angry outbursts directed at Dakota. When he confronts Jake, things turn deadly.
