Born in London, Margaret Fensom migrated to Adelaide by steamship in 1947 as a small child. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Adelaide in 1967 and with a Masters in Creative Writing in 1999. She lives in Norwood and has two adult daughters and five grandchildren. She is currently studying theology part time at St Barnabas' Theological College.
