Cadiz es la octava novela de la primera serie de los Episodios Nacionales de Benito Perez Galdos. Continua con el relato novelado de la Guerra de Independencia entre Espana y Francia. En esta entrega se hace una pausa en la descripcion de las hazanas belicas para centrar la accion en la relacion entre el protagonista, Gabriel de Araceli, y su amada Ines, con el trasfondo historico de las Cortes de Cadiz de 1812 en pleno asedio de las tropas francesas.
