This book is a pilot project between Wood Elementary School at Fort Leonard Wood Army Base, Missouri and Chalfant Eckert Publishing. It was born of the desire of one writing teacher, Mrs. Margaret Lawing, who wanted her third grade class of English and Language Arts students to discover a love of writing. Most third grade students need a reason to write (except for passing notes, of course ) and Mrs. Lawing discovered a way to gain their attention and motivate them to become published authors.
