Preeclampsia (PE) is a disorder peculiar to pregnancy and a major cause of maternal death. It is associated with fetal growth restriction, low birth weight, preterm delivery and respiratory distress syndrome. Although the exact pathophysiological mechanisms of PE remain elusive.
