Information Centric Network(ICN) is not based on server location. It is purely information oriented. Instead of locating the server, ICN locates the information. Many of the disadvantages of current networks can be mitigated by ICN approach. It gives better performance than our current TCP/IP network in many ways including security. Various disadvantages of TCP/IP network as well as solutions to those disadvantages with approch of ICN are listed out in the book.
